Australia Post hire former TNT Australia manager to oversee parcel operations

Australia Post has revealed it has hired former TNT Australia Managing Director Robert Black to take control of its parcel operations. The parcel business has said Black will provide a “deep knowledge” of local and international transport and logistics in occupying his new role.

Black is expected to resume his new role as Executive General Manager from January 2015 onwards. Black will take over the role following his long stint as Managing Director at TNT Australia from 2009 to 2014. With over 30 years experience in the industry, Australia Post has said Black’s “significant international and local logistics expertise” will help strengthen its parcel services leadership team.

Australia Post Chief Executive Ahmed Fahour has commented: “His global knowledge will enable him to shape the future of this dynamic business, leveraging the significant infrastructure and technology investments we have made over the past two years.” Fahour continued: “In this role, Mr Black will be responsible for providing a world-class service to our customers with an unrivalled suite of ecommerce-driven logistics, supply chain and parcel delivery solutions for consumers, local and international businesses and online marketplaces.”
