Recent reports have shown an increase in cargo volume at London Heathrow airport of 4.1%, bringing in 726,469 tonnes within the first six months of 2014. The increase has been most noticeable on routes serving China, Japan, Brazil and the United States of America

Management at the UK’s largest air hub has reported 35.1 million travellers passing through Heathrow airport during the last six months, resulting in a 1.9% growth which has been driven mainly by intercontinental traffic.

Chief Executive Officer at Heathrow, John Holland-Kaye, has said: “Heathrow has performed well over the last six months. My vision is to build on that record of continuous improvement, driving Heathrow to win the case for expansion and become one of the best airports in the world – an ambition which will give the UK a great springboard to continue to complete successfully in the global economy.”
